Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical activities of the therapeutic apheresis department.



Supervision Exercised:

This position supervises staff.



Supervision Received:

Under general direction of assigned managerial staff.



Quality Statement:

Supports organizational quality efforts by accepting responsibility for:

•Reporting any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.

•Participating in the implementation of solutions to problems.



Essential Functions:

•Manages, trains, mentors, and develops assigned staff.

•Ensures adherence to SOPs, regulations, guidelines, practices and policies.

•Maintains quality patient care and services to the community through implementation of staff training program, standards of care, process improvement plans and excellent customer service.

•Assists to achieve the financial objective of the department through annual budget and cost analysis preparation.

•Works in conjunction with medical staff to review all patient treatments and recommended treatment plans.

•Communicates with referring physicians and hospitals and acts as a professional resource.

•Assists the medical staff with operations planning and problem resolution to achieve program goals.

•Performs cell collection procedures as needed and assist in managing of studies.

•Develops and implements a continuous quality improvement program and risk management activities.

•Develop and implement a staff training plan to ensure staff comprehension of all apheresis procedures, possible procedure related complications, new directives and regulatory guidelines.

•Assists marketing in establishing procedural rates for new and existing customers and defining project margins.

Job Qualifications:
Education & Experience:



Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred



Experience:

Five years of experience in nursing with at least three years in a critical care capacity. Experience must include supervisory/managerial experience.



Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.



Licenses/Certifications

Current RN licenses in Missouri and Kansas or ability to obtain license in a state in which not currently licensed.

Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
